Restoration & Preservation
A 1962 Porsche 356 in excellent preserved driver condition next to a recently fully restored 1968 VW Beetle four cylinder air cooled engine.
Daily Drivers of All Shapes and Sizes
Some of our specialties include BMWs like this 3 series in for regular maintenance and safety check as well as a recently purchased Porsche 997 Cabriolet in for a list of repairs including a not so routine leaky gas tank replacement.
Timeless Craftsmanship
If not for a few subtle clues, this photo could easily be mistaken as being from the late sixties or early seventies, but in fact is from 2011. The time honored skills and equipment from that early era are still relevant in our shop everyday.
Mechanical Surgery
The transmission is removed on a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S to create room to work and allow access to the flywheel side of the engine for a routine intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing upgrade.
Critical Preventative Maintenance
Taken from where the transmission normally sits, this photo shows the flywheel side of the M96 Porsche 996 (and 986) engine, with the clutch and flywheel already removed. On top is the starter gear, in the center is the crankshaft surrounded by the rear main seal (RMS) and the intermediate shaft (IMS) access cover is on the bottom. The IMS bearing can cause catastrophic engine failure in some M96 engines so we often upgrade the bearing with a more robust racing style version as a highly recommended precaution. Contact us to find out more about the options and packages we offer for this application.
